Hope Happens Here — Will You Be Part of It? Edy Bernal's Inspiring Journey on "Lost and Found"
For over 53 years, Pregnancy Counseling Center (PCC) has been here in the San Fernando Valley, quietly standing beside women and families during some of life’s most tender, complicated moments. We’ve seen the fear in someone’s eyes when they first walk through our doors—and we’ve also seen those same eyes light up with hope.
Recently, our Executive Director, Edy Bernal, joined Paula Cresham on the Lost and Found radio show for a heartfelt conversation about what we do, why we do it, and how God has woven hope into so many stories. Listening to her share was like being reminded all over again that even in the hardest seasons, love and faith can change everything.
Edy’s Story: From Fear to Faith
Edy knows what it feels like to be scared and unsure. At just 18 years old, she faced an unplanned pregnancy as a single mom. She wished there had been a place like PCC—somewhere to go for guidance, comfort, and a listening ear.
Years later, after raising three children, she felt God nudging her to share His love with others in the same place she once was. “I’ve been in your shoes,” she tells women who come in. “And you know what? It’s going to be okay.”
Eighteen years later, Edy has walked alongside teens as young as 12, couples bracing for the unknown, and parents rediscovering joy in unexpected blessings. Her story—and the countless stories she’s witnessed—remind us that nothing is wasted when we let God work through our pain.
Walking With People Every Step of the Way
PCC is more than a pregnancy center. It’s a safe, judgment-free place to take a breath, ask questions, and figure out the next step.
Thanks to generous donors and churches, we can offer free services like pregnancy testing, early ultrasounds (where that tiny heartbeat can be heard as early as 21 days), STD testing, and education on natural cycle tracking and abstinence.
We also walk with those carrying the quiet pain of past abortions, offering scripture-based healing programs. As Edy says, “There’s only one way for true healing—it’s the Lord.”
For those choosing to parent, our HUB program offers over 150 classes in parenting, life skills, and more. Families earn points for attending, which they can use in our Baby Boutique to pick out diapers, blankets, and clothes. It’s not just about providing things—it’s about building confidence and community.
You Can Be Part of the Story
In a city where pro-life voices are few, PCC is a soft place to land—and we can only keep going because of people who care.
You can:
- Donate to keep every service free.
- Volunteer as a counselor or help in our boutique.
- Host a baby bottle drive or invite us to speak at your church.
- Pray for the women, men, and families we meet every week.
Every bit matters. Every prayer matters. And every time someone chooses hope, it’s because people like you made space for it.

From all of us at PCC—thank you for caring. Thank you for loving. And thank you for helping turn fear into joy, one life at a time.
